Day One

Fly to Amsterdam, and join Olympia in the attractive Dutch capital. Enjoy dinner and a leisurely evening on board, before the ship sets off early in the morning and out into Lake Markermeer.

Day Two

This morning is spent in Hoorn, a charming 17th-century town and former base for the Dutch East India Company. Later this morning, Olympia cruises across the inland sea for a short call in Lelystad, and an optional excursion this afternoon offers you the chance to visit Het Loo Palace, the former Dutch royal residence.

Later, Olympia heads into the Markermeer sailing towards Zaandam, where the pretty streets are lined with colourful houses and iconic windmills, once subjects of Claude Monet's paintings.

Day Three

Today's excursion is a true spectacle, as you visit the world-renowned Keukenhof Gardens. With some seven million flowers in bloom during the springtime, the ground here transforms into a dazzling sea of colour. Take a scenic boat ride (payable locally) or leisurely stroll through this floral paradise, stopping for refreshments at one of the cafes along the way.

This afternoon, re-join Olympia in Amsterdam and enjoy one final evening on board, or opt to join a cheese and wine canal cruise through the city's iconic waterways.

Day Four

Bid farewell to Olympia, and return to Amsterdam airport to catch your flight home.

Further Information

Special requirements

If you have notified us of any special requirements, please check that they have been noted and acknowledged. This is especially important with any dietary needs you may have.

Disabled access

The majority of our tours involve a certain amount of walking, including a short walk from the coach stop to the town, attraction or venue you're visiting. If you are bringing a wheelchair, please let us know at the time of booking so that appropriate arrangements can be made.

Pre-paid drinks package

Spend just £17.50 per person per night, and enjoy unlimited draught beer, house wine and soft drinks (including water, tea and coffee) between 10am and midnight while on board Olympia. All other drinks are not included. The drinks package must be purchased by every person occupying a particular cabin.

Optional shore excursions

Optional excursions are available on all cruises, and we recommend that you book now to secure your place. If the number of bookings needed to operate any excursion is not reached, the excursion may be cancelled. In this case your payment will be refunded in full.

Tipping is not compulsory, but from experience we know that many passengers like to leave gratuities for the crew. An envelope will be left in your cabin for this purpose.

Dress code

The dress code on board and ashore is casual. After 7pm, in the lounge and restaurant, shorts are not permitted, and footwear and a shirt or T-shirt must be worn.

Where possible, non-rigid suitcases are easier to store within your cabin.

Drinking water

The tap water on board is safe to drink, but may not be to your taste due to the purification system.

Itinerary changes

On rare occasions, the Captain may need to alter the Cruise Itinerary. If this happens, the Cruise Manager will keep passengers informed.

Cabin sizes

The majority of cabins on board are 10.5m square. Single cabins are approximately 7.7m square. (These measurements include the bathroom.) Standard Promenade cabins are 15m square and most have double beds (which do not convert to sofas), but they do not have a table or stool and will by subject to engine noise during overnight and early morning sailing.

Airport development fees

An Airport Development Fee has been introduced at a few UK Airports. You will be required to pay this charge at the following airports prior to checking in for your flight: Blackpool, Durham Tees Valley, Newquay and Norwich. The amount varies from airport to airport, but it is generally between £5 and £10 per person. Please visit the airport's website for further information.

*This offer applies to new bookings made between 24th February and 14th April 2017 (inclusive) only. Prices shown when booking do not include the discount. The discount amount will be added to your booking once the promo code has been entered and will be confirmed before purchase. Single cabin full fares will be discounted by 25 per cent when the promo code is applied. The offer may not be used in conjunction with any other offer, and may be withdrawn at any time.

Southend-on-sea Couple
Quite a well packaged holiday apart from the fact of no service of any sort on the boat until the evening of the first day and no service after breakfast on the departure day, which meant that of the four day/ three nights full board advertised only the middle two days were as advertised.

A great experience to see the flowers at the Kuffenhauf Gardens. Newmarket's tour arrangements worked well except for the 4.30 am starting of the very very noisy engines each morning. Meals and drinks package were good.

Mitford near Morpeth Couple
A very relaxing short break in a friendly environment. Tours were excellent but in some cases we felt we could have spent longer e.g Het Loo Palace. The gardens there are so extensive a little longer there would have given us more time to view the Palace properly.
Our Tour Manager was very knowledgeable, friendly and always on hand. All of the ship's crew whom we encountered were friendly and helpful and those we did not encounter worked extremely hard to make our holiday the great weekend it was. The change of travel plans was helpful to us also. Flying is such a direct way to travel.

It is difficult to know when it would be the best time to visit the bulb fields as it is dependent on the weather, but we struck lucky on mid April. The keukenhof gardens were beautiful and it was a good plan to go early in the morning to miss the crowds later in the day.It was an action packed holiday as we went on the optional trips, really enjoyed the visit to magnificent het loo palace and gardens. The cruise manager was excellent.

All over too quickly. So glad we flew, as the coach journey sounded horrendous, and we also had a free day in Amsterdam at the end.

Well organised, Tight ship with good information at all times, good food and service, wonderful staff and tour manager.
