Itinerary

Day One

Travel to Brussels by high-speed Eurostar from London St Pancras or Ebbsfleet International station. You'll then transfer by coach to Andernach to embark Olympia before she begins her journey along the mighty Rhine this evening.

Day Two

This morning Olympia sets sail from Andernach, heading to idyllic Boppard, in the heart of the UNESCO World Heritage region of the Upper/Middle Rhine.

Discover the town's Roman fort and beautiful historic quarter on our fascinating walking tour, and this evening, enjoy dinner and entertainment on board, or explore Boppard by night.

Day Three

Today, Olympia sails into the picturesque Middle Rhine, past vineyards and ancient villages, and through the narrow gorge beneath the Lorelei - the legendary rock where sirens were said to have lured sailors to their fate.

This afternoon, Olympia ties up in the celebrated wine town of Rudesheim. Explore its famous Drosselgasse, lined with bars and weinstuben (taverns), and perhaps join our optional excursion to see the quirky wonders of Siegfried's Musikkabinett.

Enjoy dinner and entertainment on board this evening, or head back ashore.

Day Four

Cruising south this morning, Olympia calls at historic Mainz. Join our optional walking tour and discover its six-towered cathedral, Gutenberg Museum and delightful Altstadt (old town), before returning to Olympia for this afternoon's sailing back through the Rhine Gorge to Koblenz.

Step ashore to stroll the pretty Altstadt or along the riverfront promenade, before enjoying dinner and entertainment on board.

Day Five

Olympia continues downriver, passing the delightful town of Konigswinter and former German capital, Bonn, to arrive back in Cologne by early afternoon. Explore the great Rhineland capital, or join our coach excursion into the breathtaking Ahr Valley, before returning to Cologne to explore its vast cathedral and the surrounding Altstadt with a local guide.

This evening, the Captain hosts a Farewell Dinner on board, and there's a chance to swap memories of the past wonderful few days with fellow passengers.

Day Six

Leaving Olympia this morning, disembark in Cologne and transfer back to Brussels for the high-speed Eurostar journey home.

Further Information

Special requirements

If you have notified us of any special requirements, please check that they have been noted and acknowledged. This is especially important with any dietary needs you may have.

Disabled access

The majority of our tours involve a certain amount of walking, including a short walk from the coach stop to the town, attraction or venue you're visiting. If you are bringing a wheelchair, please let us know at the time of booking so that appropriate arrangements can be made.

Optional shore excursions

Optional excursions are available on all cruises, and we recommend that you book now to secure your place. If the number of bookings needed to operate any excursion is not reached, the excursion may be cancelled. In this case your payment will be refunded in full.

Tipping

Tipping is not compulsory, but from experience we know that many passengers like to leave gratuities for the crew. An envelope will be left in your cabin for this purpose.

Luggage

Where possible, non-rigid suitcases are easier to store within your cabin.

Dress code

The dress code on board and ashore is casual. After 7pm, in the lounge and restaurant, shorts are not permitted, and footwear and a shirt or T-shirt must be worn.

Drinking water

The tap water on board is safe to drink, but may not be to your taste due to the purification system. Bottled water can be purchased on board and locally.

Itinerary changes

On rare occasions, the Captain may need to alter the Cruise Itinerary. If this happens, the Cruise Manager will keep passengers informed.

Cabin sizes

The majority of cabins on board are 10.5m square. Single cabins are approximately 7.7m square. (These measurements include the bathroom.) Standard Promenade cabins are 15m square and most have double beds (which do not convert to sofas), but they do not have a table or stool and will by subject to engine noise during overnight and early morning sailing.

*Offer applies to new bookings made between 1st and 30th September 2016 (inclusive) only. Prices shown when booking do not include the Buy-One-Get-One-Free discount. The discount amount will be added to your booking once the promo code has been entered and will be confirmed before purchase. Discounts apply to all cabin categories. This offer is subject to availability, may not be used in conjunction with any other offer and may be withdrawn at any time. All fares exclude gratuities.

GARY

A fantastic holiday, slightly marred by the final leg getting to the ship, a very uncomfortable 50 minute journey in an ageing minibus spoiled what had been a very pleasant journey to join the ship but soon forgotten once on board. The hospitality shown to us was second to none, the ship was spotless from top to bottom, the food was amazing and the entertainment was excellent. If you are considering this ship, don't think about it just book it!

On the whole enjoyable but would not go again
This the third holiday with Newmarket this was spoilt to a degree by the constant reminder, daily, over two days about tips to the crew and tour manager. The pick up at Koln was not good, minibus there but no driver who was less than polite to say the least. You can do better than this.
