The soundtrack of a generation

Join us as the inspiring true story of Carole King's remarkable rise to stardom is brought to life at the Aldwych Theatre. A pianist from the age of four, King fought her way into the record industry as a teenager, sold her first hit at 17 and was writing number ones for the biggest acts in rock 'n' roll by 20. But her greatest challenge was to find her own voice and finally step into the spotlight.

Day One

Travel from your local pick-up point to London and, in the late afternoon, transfer into central London. There will be time for a meal in High Street Kensington before the evening's performance of 'Beautiful: The Carole King Musical' at the Aldwych Theatre.

Take your seat and relax as this new production unfolds the untold story of King's journey from school girl to superstar, and includes classics like 'Take Good Care Of My Baby', 'Will You Love Me Tomorrow', 'Up On The Roof', 'Locomotion', 'You've Got A Friend' and '(You Make Me Feel Like) A Natural Woman'.

Day Two

After a relaxed morning we'll transfer you to London's West End, where you're free to shop your way along Oxford Street and Regent Street, or into Knightsbridge. Perhaps do some sightseeing and enjoy a leisurely lunch before we head for home in the afternoon, arriving back in the local area by mid to late evening.

Much too tiring for 1 night, hotel was comfortable but the breakfast arrangement was like a BUN fight, no system at all!!! serve your self which fine, and good selection of items.
The tour manager was very good and helpful. The show was brilliant, coach driver was good, he offered a tour of London which was £6 each bit expensive! Should have been included! And too long in London, after having early starts and travelling!!!

Derby Friends
We had a longish wait at Leicester for our feeder coach which was unfortunate. The coach driver who took us to London made several inappropriate comments at certain intervals and seemed very indifferent to our welfare. On the journey to the theatre early evening we sat at the back of the coach and were extremely cold, at no point were we asked if we needed the heat turning up or down. It was discovered that a skylight was open causing a cold draught at the rear of the bus.

We were given a time of 10.30 pm (ish) to be picked up from the theatre as the other passengers had varying times of their performances finishing. Unfortunately we came out at 10 am and were not picked up until 10.50 pm and the weather was extremely cold. (A couple of the passengers who were scheduled to be picked up at 10 pm (ish) before us didn't come out of their theatre until 10.30 pm). Was this not checked? Why couldn't the driver ring passengers and let them know when the coach was near their theatre to save hanging around?

We thought our weekend break was excellent. From the moment we were picked up at home to being dropped back home the following day we received great customer service. The whole weekend was thoroughly enjoyable and nothing was a disappointment. We would certainly use Newmarket a Holidays again.
