Resort Information

Paphos - one-time ancient Greek and Roman capital of the island and now a UNESCO-World Heritage site - is a pretty port where modern amenities provide holiday creature comforts without diluting the wonder of the upper town's historic sites. Bars and restaurants line the picturesque harbour front, while palm-fringed boulevards and flower-decked courtyards radiate charm and conviviality.

Day One

Fly to Cyprus, meet your Tour Manager and transfer to your Paphos hotel.

Day Two

Today's included half-day guided walking tour of Paphos will reveal the extraordinary 'Tombs of the Kings' burial site, the famous Paphos Mosaics housed in ancient Roman villas, and the Byzantine Church of Ayia Paraskevi. There will also be an entertaining stop to see how Loukoumi - the Greek Cypriot version of 'Turkish' Delight - is made.

Day Three

Our second included tour takes us to the spectacular Troodos Mountains, which rise above the plains and the coast and which have been home for centuries to remote villages and religious communities, including several wonderfully decorated Byzantine churches.

Stop in Throni Park, burial place of Archbishop Makarios, Cyprus' first president, and ancient Kykkos Monastery, famed for its Byzantine Museum.

Day Four

Join today's optional excursion beyond the political divide of the 'Green Line' into Northern Cyprus, occupied by Turkey since 1974. In this beautiful region of mountains dotted with ancient villages leading down to a tranquil coastline, you'll visit Gothic Bellapais Abbey (made famous by author Lawrence Durrell) and the coastal port-town of Kyrenia.

Day Five

Relax in Paphos today. In addition to your hotel's facilities, the town has sights to see, shops to discover, and even nearby golf courses to tempt the energetic.

Day Six

Today's fascinating included excursion visits historic Nicosia, island capital for more than 12 centuries. Divided in 1974 by the 'Green Line' separating Greek and Turkish Cypriot territories, the city is both a bustling metropolis, with a sophisticated cafe culture, and a fascinating gateway to the island's turbulent past.

You'll also visit the delightful village of Pano Lefkara.

Day Seven

Step into Cyprus' fascinating past on our final optional excursion. Visit the magnificent Greco-Roman amphitheatre at Kourion, pass the rock where Aphrodite is said to have risen from the waves, and see the extraordinary mosaics of the 'House of Eustolios'. Other highlights will include a typical Cypriot lunch, and visits to Limassol's old town and to the picturesque village of Lania.

Day Eight

Say farewell to Paphos, and transfer to the airport to board your flight home.

Further Information

Hotel transfer times

The transfer time from the airport to your hotel is approximately 30 minutes.

Combining hotel transfers

We sometimes need to combine transfers to and from your hotel. We always try to keep any wait to a minimum, but you may be asked to wait at the airport for up to an hour, while other incoming flights arrive, before the transfer to your hotel. Similarly, we may need to transfer you back to the airport up to three hours before your flight home departs.

Special requirements

If you have notified us of any special requirements, please check that they have been noted and acknowledged. This is especially important with any dietary needs you may have.

Disabled access

The majority of our tours involve a certain amount of walking, including a short walk from the coach stop to the town, attraction or venue you're visiting. If you are bringing a wheelchair, please let us know at the time of booking so that appropriate arrangements can be made.

Itinerary changes

Occasionally, for operational reasons, we may have to change the order of the excursions on your holiday. The final day-by-day itinerary will be confirmed on your Final Travel Documents, which you will receive approximately three weeks prior to your departure.

Ely Friends
The visits were all very interesting, but may I suggest that the visit to Nicosia could be on a day that the museums are open ? We drove a very long way only to find that all museums are closed on Mondays.
We stayed at Agapinor Hotel.
Clean towels on arrival - they were changed once.
The food was reminiscent of school dinners. Every night the vegetables, other than potatoes, were from a tin. Occasionally there was fresh fruit at breakfast - oranges. Tinned peaches were available everyday both for breakfast and pudding in the evening. The yogurt was delicious.
The puddings offered the choice of, a vibrant coloured blancmange, peaches in a jelly and a cake.
The waiting staff in the dining room were first class.

Rotherham Couple
Decent hotel, well placed, reasonable service, food ok if not very exciting
The one problem was the trip to Nicosia, frankly not the most wonderful of cities, and to have the visit on monday, when all the museums etc were closed,is poor planning. What it meant was there was little beyond the shops to see,and they are not woth visiting.

Thoroughly enjoyed all the excursions and the villages and churches. The local guide was very good. Hotel Dionysos was good and all the staff were lovely and situated in an ideal spot. Lighting in the rooms could have been brighter.

Hotel nice and beech front. Food a lot of meat and very little fish. Fruit very acidic so I only had a banana occasionally when these were offered and tinned peach. Tours very rushed and we were not given the time to explore the sites we visited. Nicosia for me was a complete waste of a day and very disappointed. Would have preferred Limossol excursion and paid extra. Went on the Jeep Safari was fun but again we were very rushed.
