Itinerary

Day One

Leaving the local area in the early morning we'll head to Royal Windsor. Wander the pretty streets of this lovely riverside town, or pre-purchase tickets to Windsor Castle to see the magnificent State Apartments.

After a pleasant afternoon in Windsor we'll continue to our overnight hotel.

Day Two

Today we head to Buckingham Palace for a guided tour of this iconic royal residence's delightful gardens. Discover the beautiful herbaceous border, the wisteria-clad summer house, the Rose Garden, the enormous Waterloo Vase and the Palace Tennis Court on which King George VI and Fred Perry 'crossed racquets' in the 1930s.

Your visit will also include time to explore the Palace itself: the Grand Staircase, the State Dining Room, the magnificent Ballroom, the Music Room and the Picture Gallery. You will also see the Royal Gifts exhibition, which tells the story of the Queen's reign through a wide-ranging display of official gifts presented to Her Majesty by world leaders from every continent over the past 65 years. Enjoy views over the Garden's famous lawn from the West Terrace's new Garden Cafe and browse the Royal Collection Shop's exclusive merchandise.

After your time at the Palace you'll take a short, afternoon Royal London sightseeing tour before we begin our journey home, arriving back in the local area by mid to late evening.

This trip was excellent value and an easy and relaxed way to achieve the aim of a tour around Buckingham Palace State Rooms and gardens, with the added bonus of an afternoon at Windsor.

OK but tiring. Not aware of the early start on the second day. Should have been advised.

A lovely break. The hotel was lovely but the menus and continental breakfast were rather odd and slightly lacking.
Coach, driver and Maggie were all great, but the necessity to combine pickups makes the journeys too long. On this occasion we travelled by car and joined at the hotel!

Lovely trip. Well worth going to see Windsor Castle and Buckingham Palace. Only niggle was although the tour manager was very knowledgeable we found his instructions for meeting times a little confusing. Saying that everyone managed to turn up at the correct place and in time.

Manchester Couple
The two visits to Windsor Castle and Buckingham Palace with garden tour were brilliant. When we saw the St Giles Hotel we feared the worst but beyond the facade the rooms were excellent and we enjoyed the evening meal and breakfast. The only downside was the horrendous traffic both at the start from Manchester to Knutsford and getting out of London for the return journey as it was rush hour both times

An enjoyable couple of days at Windsor and Buckingham Palace but unfortunately the same could not be said for the hotel for the overnight stay. The first room that we were given had not been made up and the second room overlooked refurbishment of the exterior of the hotel and so the window was covered with dust from the building works. The only good thing about this hotel was the attached Italian restaurant which was really good.
