Dubrovnik, Montenegro & the Dalmatian Coast Tour Itinerary
Every day a new experience
Day One: Arrive in Croatia
Fly to Dubrovnik, meet your Newmarket Tour Manager, then transfer to your hotel in Brela, a coastal town on the shores of the Adriatic. Feel free to start exploring this popular resort, before your evening dinner.
Day Two: Discover both Split and Trogir
Visit Croatia's second largest city, Split, on today's included tour. Wander the Old Town, visit the palace of Roman Emperor Diocletian, and browse the busy marketplace. Continue to the fascinating island-town of Trogir, entering from the mainland through a baroque Land Gate to discover a time-warped jumble of palaces, ancient churches and hidden courtyards. After exploring, you'll return to the hotel for dinner.
Day Three: Visit Krka National Park
Today's included excursion takes in the waterfalls, gorges and lakes of the famous Krka National Park, which stretches some 12 miles up a valley from the harbour-town of Skradin. Stroll along the wooden walkways at your own pace, and discover a park that more than one of our customers has called "indescribably beautiful".
Day Four: Travel to Bosnia-Herzegovina and Mostar
This morning, you'll head past the River Neretva delta on the way to Bosnia-Herzegovina, and Mostar, famous for its iconic, medieval bridge arching across the river. After exploring this distinctive town, a UNESCO-listed area boasting one of Europe's oldest continuously running markets, you'll travel to your second hotel base close to Dubrovnik.
Day Five: Explore Dubrovnik
Today, join our included, guided tour of Dubrovnik and you'll see the Renaissance Sponza Palace, baroque St Blaise's Church, and the Franciscan Monastery, home to Europe's oldest pharmacy. View Dubrovnik and the blue Adriatic from the city walls, and spend a free afternoon sightseeing or shopping, before returning to the hotel for dinner.
Day Six: Visit Montenegro, the Bay of Kotor, Cetinje and Budva
Today, we'll cross the border into Montenegro, to visit the Bay of Kotor, southern Europe's largest fjord. You'll have time to explore the UNESCO World Heritage Site of Kotor itself, before we journey into the mountains to Cetinje. The final stop of the day is picturesque Budva, which, at over 2,500 years old, is one of the oldest settlements on the Adriatic coast. From here, we'll head back to Dubrovnik.
Day Seven: Enjoy a day at leisure
Enjoy a final day's relaxation, perhaps returning to Dubrovnik for some more sightseeing and shopping, or taking a dip in the clear blue waters of the Adriatic. This evening, enjoy a farewell dinner at the hotel.
Day Eight: Fly home from Croatia to the UK
Transfer the short distance to the airport to board your flight home, from a holiday where you've discovered three countries and enjoyed many new experiences.
Hotel transfer times
The transfer time from the airport to your hotel is approximately three hours. The return transfer is approximately 30 minutes.
Combining hotel transfers
We sometimes need to combine transfers to and from your hotel. We always try to keep any wait to a minimum, but you may be asked to wait at the airport for up to an hour, while other incoming flights arrive, before the transfer to your hotel. Similarly, we may need to transfer you back to the airport up to three hours before your flight home departs.
If you have notified us of any special requirements, please check that they have been noted and acknowledged. This is especially important with any dietary needs you may have.
The majority of our tours involve a certain amount of walking, including a short walk from the coach stop to the town, attraction or venue you're visiting. If you are bringing a wheelchair, please let us know at the time of booking so that appropriate arrangements can be made.
Occasionally, for operational reasons, we may have to change the order of the excursions on your holiday. The final day-by-day itinerary will be confirmed on your Final Travel Documents, which you will receive approximately three weeks prior to your departure.
Airport development fees
An Airport Development Fee has been introduced at a few UK Airports. You will be required to pay this charge at the following airports prior to checking in for your flight: Blackpool, Durham Tees Valley, Newquay and Norwich. The amount varies from airport to airport, but it is generally between £5 and £10 per person. Please visit the airport's website for further information.
