Itinerary

Day One

Fly to Ireland, meet your Tour Manager and transfer to your hotel. The rest of the day is left free so you can relax and perhaps make the most of the hotel's leisure centre. Alternatively explore nearby Claremorris, about a 10-minute walk away.

Day Two

Discover the unique, rugged beauty of Ireland's unspoilt west on today's excursion. The vast expanse of the Burren, one of the largest limestone karst areas in Europe, is our first stop.

Learn about the region's natural and archaeological treasures at the Kilfenora visitor centre, before we continue to the majestic Cliffs of Moher - towering some 200 metres above sea level. On a clear day, the pathways and viewing platforms along the cliff edge offer simply stunning views, including the famous Aran Islands, the Kerry Mountains and Galway Bay.

Day Three

This morning, we'll visit the award-winning National Museum of Irish Country Life - which gives a fascinating insight into rural Irish life between 1850 and the 1950.

We continue to the picturesque little town of Cong, setting for the 1952 John Wayne film 'The Quiet Man', where we'll board our privately chartered vessel for a cruise across beautiful Lough Corrib. Sit back and enjoy the fantastic views of Ashford Castle, the Connemara mountains and the wooded islands that dot the lake.

After the cruise we'll follow a particularly spectacular route home, between the lakes of Corrib and Mask.

Day Four

Lively, picturesque Galway City beckons today. Join our Tour Manager for a guided tour, then explore at leisure. The old centre surrounds ancient Lynch's Castle, and a pedestrianised thoroughfare leads down to the thriving waterfront. Browse the shops and perhaps enjoy lunch in one of Galway's countless restaurants, take a harbour cruise or visit the city's great, stone cathedral.

Day Five

Our final day is spent exploring the remote beauty of Connemara. Heading west, our route takes us along part of the Wild Atlantic Way - one of the world's longest defined coastal routes - before turning north to Maam Cross.

From here we continue to Leenane, dramatically situated on Ireland's only fjord, for a visit to nearby Kylemore Abbey. Enjoy the Abbey's beautiful setting, fascinating history, Victorian walled gardens and welcoming tea rooms. Afterwards admire the scenery of the Inagh Valley, the Quiet Man Bridge and Oughterard, before arriving back in Claremorris.

Day Six

Spend a final few hours resting and relaxing at the hotel, or perhaps exploring the local area, before transferring to the airport to board your flight home.

STEPHEN

London Friends
It was lovely. The scenery was amazing. We would have liked to have visited the Galway glass factory, but this was not suggested for our Galway visit and we did not discover it until afterwards. We also needed more time at Kylemore Abbey. However, overall it was a lovely week.

MICHAEL

Maidenhead Couple
We enjoyed the holiday because the shortfall in the hotel which was poor because Carmel & the driver made so enjoyable. Carmel was an excellent tour manager and the driver was not just a good driver but an excellent tour manager support too. We would not hesitate considering another tour of a different part of Ireland if we had Carmel as the tour manager. The hotel room was not 100% clean, the food offered was poor and the heating was practically non existent until we complained as they had the heating turned off in our room and in the main parts of the hotel. The flights were far too late (changed from the original flight time advertised and Gatwick overcrowd their slots causing delayed take off times due to queue's on the taxi runway. We would not consider returning to the same hotel.

The only down side to the holiday was that each place we visited required a lengthy
Journey.

The tour manager was good but the driver was excellent, always cheerful and helpful.

Excellent holiday throughout. More time could have been spent at Kylemore Abbey as there was insufficient time to view the gardens and the Church.
