Discover the Christmas markets of Belgium
Visit a trio of Belgium's most famous cities and soak up all the magic of their enchanting Christmas markets on this great-value weekend break. Begin in Ghent, one of Europe's best kept secrets, home to more listed buildings than any other Belgian city. Continue to Brussels, where traditional wooden chalets offer a wealth of festive gifts, and finish in Bruges, strolling along its quaint cobbled streets past medieval architecture and a picturesque network of canals.
Single rooms are available for a supplement
Leaving your pick-up in the early morning, we travel to the port, cross the Channel and continue to our hotel in the Brussels area, with a stop en route for an early evening meal (payable locally).
After a leisurely breakfast we'll head to Ghent, a beautifully preserved medieval city, where stunning architecture, a 12th-century castle, beautiful waterways and quaint cobbled streets provide a wonderful backdrop for the Christmas market in Sint-Baafsplein. Browse the seasonally-decorated wooden huts selling trinkets and traditional fare, stroll along Graslei past the historic guild houses and enjoy the breathtaking wintry cityscape at St Michael's Bridge.
During the mid afternoon, we'll head to the centre of Brussels to explore the sights of the capital city and its much-celebrated Christmas Markets. Follow the path through the Grand Place, around the Bourse and up to the Marche aux Poissons; discover the sights of the old town, such as picturesque Rue des Bouchers, Saint Hubert Galleries and the cheeky Manneken Pis; and don't miss the Sound and Light Show on the Grand Place. Enjoy an early evening meal (payable locally) before we return to the hotel in the mid evening.
After breakfast, we check out of the hotel and make our way to Bruges. Here, the popular Christmas Market, held on the Simonsteven Plein in the heart of the old town, offers an assortment of beautifully wrapped Belgian chocolates, colourful sweets and handmade Christmas decorations. After some time to explore Bruges' gorgeous, fairy-tale streets, we'll make our way back to the port for our return crossing, arriving back at your pick-up point by the late evening.

To give you greater flexibility and allow you to travel on the date that suits you best, you may like to meet the coach at Folkestone Services (called Stop 24) on the M20, which is just a five-minute drive from the Channel Tunnel and a 15-minute drive from Dover. If you wish to do this, please select the county 'Kent' and the pick-up point 'Stop 24 Folkestone Services Saltwood' when booking. You will be notified of the exact pick-up location in your Final Travel Details, which you will receive approximately 7-10 days prior to departure. Further information and car parking charges can be found at www.stop24.co.uk
Your final travel documents, including the exact time and place of departure, will be sent to you approximately 10 days prior to departure, providing all payments have been made. We are unable to give exact departure times before this.
Depending on your departure point, you may leave your pick-up point very early in the morning and return very late at the end of the holiday, in order to meet your scheduled Channel crossing. There will also be a stop to transfer you from a feeder coach to your main coach, on both the outward and return journeys.
Your Tour Manager will have allocated seats for you on the main coach in advance, taking into consideration any special requests wherever possible, and will advise you where to sit as you board the coach. This will be your seat for the duration of the tour. (Seats are not allocated on any connecting services to and from the main coach.)
Where meals are not included, your Tour Manager will ensure there are suitable stops made for you to purchase and enjoy lunch and/or dinner each day.
The majority of these consist of a double bed and an extra bed that is often only suitable for children. If this is a concern, you may wish to consider booking more than one room for your group.
If you have notified us of any special requirements, please check that they have been noted and acknowledged. This is especially important with any dietary needs you may have.
The majority of our tours involve a certain amount of walking, including a short walk from the coach stop to the town, attraction or venue you're visiting. If you are bringing a wheelchair, please let us know at the time of booking so that appropriate arrangements can be made.
Where possible, we will cross the Channel by ferry at the beginning and end of your holiday. However, we reserve the right to substitute crossings by Eurotunnel when necessary.
*Low deposit of £25 per person applies to new bookings made between 7th and 28th February 2017 (inclusive) only. This offer only applies to selected coach-inclusive holidays. This offer is subject to availability and may be withdrawn at any time.
