Discover Andalucia on this superb holiday to Spain
Join us to explore the true Spain, beyond the beach resorts of the sun-kissed Costa. Unearth the historic riches of this ancient country on included visits to majestic Seville, Granada and the spectacular Alhambra, and the gleaming, white-walled town of Ronda, which perches on the cliffs above the El Tajo canyon. On this great-value Spanish holiday you'll also have the chance to explore the magnificent Moorish stronghold of Cordoba and its extraordinary Mezquita, on a fascinating optional excursion.
Single rooms are available for a supplement
Must try: Authentic tapas accompanied by a glass of chilled fino sherry.
Fascinating fact: Moorish poets described the Alhambra as "a pearl set in emeralds," an allusion to the colour of its buildings and the woods surrounding them.
You say: "We wanted a taster of Andalucia, and the Seville, Granada and Classic Spain tour gave us a superb one. A well-managed experience of the highlights of this region."
The Andalusian resort of Antequera lies on a plain between mountains and olive-covered hills, its shops, bars and restaurant offering a friendly welcome to visitors. The town has a long history, which can be traced back through the 13th-century castle and its Roman baths all the way to the nearby prehistoric burial chambers like Cueva de la Menga.
Fly to Malaga, and make the one-hour transfer by comfortable, air-conditioned coach to your hotel in Antequera.
Today's full-day trip takes us to Seville. Explore the city's orange-tree-fringed squares, and see the huge cathedral, the Giralda Tower and the Moorish royal palace - the Alcazar. Seville is also home to many excellent tapas bars, so be sure to stop for tapas and a glass of fino sherry (payable locally) during your visit.
Spend today relaxing and exploring Antequera, or join our full-day excursion to the city of Cordoba. This elegant, former Roman and Moorish capital of Spain has La Mezquita, an immense Mosque into which a Christian cathedral has been incorporated, at its heart. After a guided tour of this magnificent building, you'll be free to explore the narrow lanes and corridors of the nearby ancient Juderia.
On today's full-day excursion, you'll travel through a countryside dotted with villages of whitewashed houses, to Ronda. Set above the dramatic El Tajo gorge, which cuts a swathe through the sierra, this once-Moorish citadel is a maze of narrow streets and fine Renaissance houses. Don't miss the Plaza de Toros, Ronda's legendary 18th-century bullring, and perhaps cross the Puente Nuevo bridge, which spans the gorge and links the new and old towns. You'll also see the city's fascinating Roman-style baths.
Today, we'll journey to Granada. Set in the foothills of the Sierra Nevada mountains, this great city incorporates many of Spain's most important examples of Moorish medieval architecture. Your time here will include a guided tour of the Alhambra. This outstanding UNESCO World Heritage Site is both a forbidding fortress and a palace where intricate towers and colonnades cluster around courtyard mosaics and beautiful formal gardens.
Transfer back to the airport and check in for your flight home.

The transfer time from the airport to your hotel is approximately one hour.
Due to the uneven ground and steps at the Alhambra Palace in Granada, this included excursion may not be suitable for anyone with walking difficulties or for wheelchair users.
We sometimes need to combine transfers to and from your hotel. We always try to keep any wait to a minimum, but you may be asked to wait at the airport for up to an hour, while other incoming flights arrive, before the transfer to your hotel. Similarly, we may need to transfer you back to the airport up to three hours before your flight home departs.
If you have notified us of any special requirements, please check that they have been noted and acknowledged. This is especially important with any dietary needs you may have.
The majority of our tours involve a certain amount of walking, including a short walk from the coach stop to the town, attraction or venue you're visiting. If you are bringing a wheelchair, please let us know at the time of booking so that appropriate arrangements can be made.
Occasionally, for operational reasons, we may have to change the order of the excursions on your holiday. The final day-by-day itinerary will be confirmed on your Final Travel Documents, which you will receive approximately three weeks prior to your departure.
*Low deposit of £75 per person applies to new bookings made between 7th and 28th February 2017 (inclusive) only. This offer only applies to selected air-inclusive holidays. This offer is subject to availability and may be withdrawn at any time.
