Day One

Leaving the local area, early this morning we'll head to Birmingham.

With its stunning Bullring Shopping complex, Birmingham is a shopper's paradise all year. And, at Christmas, the addition of the Christmas Craft Fair and the Frankfurt Christmas Market means you're sure to find presents for even the most challenging friends and relatives.

Seek out unusual and traditional gifts, and perhaps enjoy an early evening meal, before we continue to your overnight hotel.

Day Two

After breakfast we'll travel to the 'black and white' market town of Ludlow for the highlight of our weekend - the Medieval Christmas Fayre.

Behind the castle walls you'll find a festive scene that will transport you back into the Middle Ages. Jesters, minstrels, pipers and story-tellers provide entertainment for all ages. Historical re-enactments, have-a-go archery and falconry displays add to the atmosphere. And the market stalls offer up Christmas gift ideas from medieval-themed crafts to jewellery and leather goods.

Sample festive fare, and explore the winding cobbled streets of the town itself, before we begin our journey home in the mid afternoon, arriving back at your original pick-up point by mid to late evening.

Northampton Couple
A very well-organised weekend, with a lovely tour manager and very pleasant coach driver. The two locations were perfect for Christmas shopping. The hotel was modern and clean with a fairly basic breakfast. Unfortunately the weather was atrocious but we'd certainly try it again (and hope for better weather!)

Guildford Family
We were very happy with the places we visited, however the tour guide gave indecisive instructions which were frustrating. Other passengers as well as ourselves agreed that her talking about her private life and also sharing her frustration with the hotel was very off putting and put a negative slant on our overall experience. We were extremely impressed with our rooms at the Holiday Inn and Mr Pierre Whites restaurant. Very good value for money.

Shoreham-by-Sea I go with family
It's the second time that I have been to Ludlow Medieval Fayre and we encouraged two of our friends to join us this year.
It is good value going with Newmarket and the visit to Stratford the first day makes the two day break a really good one.

Very friendly staff. Had a lovely visit to Stratford, lots of shopping and time for a nice meal. Then on to the Hotel which was clean and tidy. Loved the day at Ludlow Castle! Court jesters; story teller, birds of prey, knights in armour - and dozens and dozens of amazing craft and food stalls. History come to life - and a fun way to buy your Christmas gifts!

What a lovely weekend we have just had at Ludlow Christmas Fayre. A short break I would recommend. I have nothing negative to say just praise for both the organisation and content. Thank you Newmarket Holidays. See you soon. X

We had a fantastic time...
We went to Stratford upon Avon on the Saturday then after an overnight stay and a hearty breakfast at a lovely hotel in Redditch we made our way to Ludlow Medieval Xmas Market..
The overall weekend was really well organised with plenty of time to Amble round..
The only downside was the typical English weather which is out of everyone's control..
