Itinerary

Day One

Leaving the local area in the early morning, we'll travel to our hotel. En route, we'll stop for lunch (payable locally), before continuing to our hotel in time for dinner.

Day Two

This morning we'll head to Blackpool, where you'll have time to enjoy the many attractions and diversions that surround the Golden Mile.

In the afternoon, join us for a tea dance at Blackpool Tower's iconic Ballroom. First opened to the public in 1894, the Ballroom is a stunning location in which to relax over afternoon tea. Take to the floor, or simply watch the world waltz by, and enjoy sandwiches, scones with clotted cream, a choice of cake and either tea or coffee.

As evening falls, we'll board a traditional Heritage tram for a 75-minute journey to discover the famous Blackpool Illuminations. This spectacular light show started in 1912 as a display of some 10,000 lights, and marked the first Royal visit to Blackpool. Today, it features over one million lightbulbs and showcases over 500 scenic designs that glitter along the seafront.

Day Three

Today, we'll head into the stunning scenery of the Peak District, as we begin our journey home.

En route, we'll stop in Buxton, where you can visit the historic Crescent, peruse the town's excellent shops or relax in the beautiful Pavilion Gardens. Later in the afternoon, we'll also visit Bakewell, home of the famous pudding. Sample the local delicacy in one of the many cafes, before taking a stroll across the ancient, five-arched bridge, or having a browse around the town's eclectic shops.

We should arrive back in the local area by mid-to-late evening, after a marvellous weekend away.

Poor organisation in general. This was particular of note on return journey. We had to leave hotel at 9am to go to Buxton. We arrived at 10am. were told it was for a 4 hour lunch break. We all protested too long asked to be reduced. We were told no 4hrs that is it. Reason given Drivers hours.

This was a coach load of people who in the main were over 60. This wads a cold November morning wind and snow.

Left Buxton just after 2pm. Then driven for over four hours no break.

Also we did not get a full cup of tea in the Ballroom, despite the waiter promising to come back 3 times.

A lovely couple of days away, particularly enjoyed the cream tea in the tower ballroom, that was very special, we weren't rushed out when we had finished and had time to have a good look round and watch the dancers with a drink from the bar.
The driver and Tour manager sorted out the illuminations really well so we were near the front of the line when the lights went on and we had a leisurely drive through the lights, and were still back at the hotel in time for dinner, well done.
Buxton was wonderful, the weather was not very good but we managed to walk round the pavilion gardens before enjoying there amazing conservatory and some hot soup in the pavilion restaurant.
The Hotel was excellent could not fault it.
Thank you Newmarket a lovely trip.

Very good , tour manager and driver very good. Although the hotel and breakfast wasvery good. The evening meal was very poor. The trip was good value for money but we would not have minded paying more for a better evening meal or less without one as there was a restaurant very near to the hotel
