Itinerary

Day One

Leaving the local area in the early morning we head to France, arriving at our hotel in the evening.

Day Two

Travel along the Seine Valley to Giverny, once home to France's most famous artist - Claude Monet. His house, with its attractive pink facade, has been restored to its original beauty. Wander the garden paths before we continue to Rouen, lovingly restored capital of Upper Normandy with its Gothic cathedral, famous mechanical clock and monument to Joan of Arc. Stroll the narrow streets past half-timbered houses, or climb to the belfry of the Gros Horloge to enjoy wonderful views of the city.

We'll return to the hotel in the early evening.

Day Three

Today begins with an included panoramic sightseeing tour of the Parisian sights, including the Champs Elysees, Arc de Triomphe and the Eiffel Tower. Afterwards, join our optional excursion to the Montparnasse Tower, and ride one of the high-speed lifts to the 56th floor of this fascinating building to discover the incredible city views.

This evening, say goodbye to Paris on our final optional excursion to the cafe-lined streets of the Latin Quarter, which includes a romantic cruise along the Seine aboard one of the famous bateaux mouche.

Day Four

We begin our journey home after breakfast, today, arriving back in the local area by mid to late-evening.

Pam the tour guide and Andre the driver were excellent. They considered our every need and had us well organised both on the excursions and our free time. Pam explained everything to us where we were going, where we were being dropped off and where we would be collected. Andre drove us round Paris to get our bearings and Pam gave us exactly the information to make our trip worthwhile.

We very much enjoyed our break to Monet's garden, Rouen and Paris.

The hotel we stayed in (Mercure at Maurepas) was of a good standard. It was located roughly 45 minutes drive from Paris and approximately an hour and two hours drive from Giverny (Monet's garden) and Rouen, respectively.

Breakfast was the same each day and was a continental style with scrambled egg and small sausages in addition.

There were a few restaurants within a 10-15 minute walk of the hotel.

The coach journey was fine with adequate rest stops, the driver helpful and the tour guide friendly and knowledgeable.

The two days of excursions were quite long - roughly 8am - 10pm including transportation from the hotel and back again. There was plenty of free time to explore at leisure in each location.

Everything ran pretty much to schedule, apart from a flat battery on the coach at Monet's garden meaning we were about 90 minutes late getting to Rouen. I can't say this was a major issue though. Indeed it may have saved us from getting soaked in a heavy downpour!

We had a really enjoyable Holiday the Hotel was good the staff were friendly.
Breakfast was Ok with exception there should have been opportunity for 2 croissants but this is personal opinion.
The tour guide was fantastic her knowledge was shared with enthusiasm and it appeared she could have shared more but did not want to over do it. She was friendly helpful and a joy to have as a guide. The coach driver was also friendly and helpful.
Personal opinion we needed an extra hour in Rouen as restaurants start serving at 7pm and an extra hour on excursion to Latin Quarter
